Madonna with Child - Montefalco (PG)
It is the central panel of a polyptych preserved in the museum of Montefalco, depicting the Madonna and Child with Saints Sebastian, Fortunato, Severo and Chiara da Montefalco (SEE WS), 1488, tempera on wood. Coming from the church of Santa Maria di Turrita in Montefalco. The Madonna and the Saints are inserted in a relief architecture that frames each character in arches supported by columns. In the central arch, the largest is the Madonna enthroned with the child, surrounded by angels; on the left there are San Sebastiano and San Fortunato, on the right San Severo and Santa Chiara da Montefalco. The dedication on the band under the entablature recalls that the work was made on the occasion of the feast of the Madonna, celebrated in December. Hello Silvio,
After more than 500 years these paintings are still in a fairly good shape, so we can enjoy their beauty and the artist's skill. The three photos are well exposed and sharp and give us a good idea of the general view and some details.

A wonderful wall painting or fresco, two faces look to the the painter, also almost the same faces, lovely too.
Colours are very sharp and pleasant to look at
Nice depth and perspective picture too.

Ciao Silvio,hai sezionato la Madonna con bambino di Montefalco in 3 salse diverse ed il risultato � magico oltre che molto istruttivo,il popolo non sembra apprezzare molto i tuoi dipinti purtroppo, specialmente considerando anche la qualita' eccezzionale. Buona Domenica,Luciano
