Church of Sant’Elisabetta di Vecciano - Montefalco (PG)
Vecciano is a tiny settlement located just below Montefalco, but it hides a small jewel, a tiny church with a splendid fresco.
The actual dedication is to Sant’Elisabetta, but it is now much better known as Madonna di Vecciano.
It was born as a newsstand in the 16th century, in the following a small church was built to protect it.
On the back wall, by Francesco Melanzio, Madonna and Child between two musician angels; in the intrados the saints Paul, Peter, Francis and Sebastian, on the vault Agnus Dei.
Now it is no longer officiated.
Nearby, on the road to San Rocco, is the source of San Francesco which, according to tradition, the saint made it gush in 1215 when he founded the convent at Santa Maria della Selvetta.

Ciao Silvio
A beautiful old fresco of the Virgin Mary and child, with good sharpness, diffused lighting and framing. The vases with flowers add a 3d effect. Tfs!

Hello Silvio,
The niche has been adorned with a beautiful fresco and fine paintings also on the sides. They seem to be in a fairly good shape, although the painted decorations on the outside of the niche have faded almost completely. There seems to have been limited light but the photo is very clear and with good sharpness.
Best regards,
Gert

HI Silvio,
Le sujet est bien cadré. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de l'autel de l'église Sant'Elisabetta di Vecciano. La lumière fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne journée.

Hello Silvio,
A very good photo of this part of the church. The colours of the painting stand out so well from the white walls around it and also the soft light is very pleasant. Well done.

Ciao Silvio,
beautiful fresco indeed. It is interesting how often most of the walls are plain with only a fragment preserved.
Very well presented here. Also the white altar cloth adds a nice touch.

Ciao Caro Silvio,
Another very beautiful painting, fitting snuggly into the prepared niche. Unusually, this one seems to be in very much better repair.
The altar, below it, is very useful in creating a sense of depth.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
