Photographer's Note

The Grand Canal is a channel in Venice, Italy. It forms one of the major water-traffic corridors in the city.

Built in the 15th century, the Grand Canal uses its beginning at the train station and ends at the marina of San Marco.

Tourists visiting the canal most often travel by characteristic gondolas. Those who cannot afford to rent a gondola can use the vaporetto . It is certainly a less convenient means of transport, but it is nevertheless much cheaper.
