Alleys of Venice IV, a photo from Venice, Veneto

Photographer's Note

I realized that all shots about Alleys of Venice I posted by now are somehow related to canals and water. Well.. no wonder, it's Venice, isn't it ? When taking this shot I actually turned back from the water to saw this scene. The sun disapeared again behind clouds but this enabled capturing more datails of the gate.
I was worried that because of lacking sun all my shots would be dull and flat, but maybe it's not that bad. What you think ?

I'm following your Venice-shots and this one too, is a good one, nice old details and colours of Italy, I would have avoid this man, but the picture is very nice (again), Marek !

Very nice composition Marek. The elements and the crop are well balanced and the colours with a good saturation. I like the laundry hanging above the street.

The pictures don't need water to be good, that's what you show us here. It's a very nice shot from daily life; well done! Ps: I have the impression that the image is slightly tilted.

The man in this image is kind of frastrating...had he been walking it would have provided a more interesting subject. The light pole and the straightness of the picture are also frustrating. i feel that the pole should be perfectly parallel to the edge (it's just slightly off). Great composition though. Good colors and you capture the feel for the Northern end of Venice very well.

I also follow the Venice shots, this one is well framed, with a street light and an arch, the rest is very italian with all that laundry.

I think the lack of sun probably helped out here, it enabled the camera to pick up the shadowed alley better, a sunny day would probably have caused it to disappear into darkness, lovely shot, the lamp post balances everything out very nicely.

It may be dull and flat elsewhere but Venice looks good here.
