Photographer's Note

When I was strolling through the alley of Venice I was terrified how bad it looked like outside of the popular tourist areas. Daily life of Venice citizens does not seem to be easy. Aparently no funds for restauration of old houses. And less and less people want to live there. They move to the continent. My inpression was that half of those houses are empty. Most of them have only a ground floor used for shops.
It's a terrifying view at night - dark windows, no people. I did not manage to take a good shot in the night, so I am sharing with you this thinking.

Very interesting note. About the photo I think it's one of the best I've seen on Venice. A real daily life feeling on this mithical city is not common. The photo is very well managed with the bridge in a strong point and the diagonal that turns into a curve creating a captivating image.

I like the contrast between the restored and the neglected, hoping to see it revitalized. Such place should not be allowed to decay.

A very different view than that normally seen by tourists, and very interesting. Too bad if some of these places are left to decay and are left unrepaired and uninhabited. Good idea to look away from the trendy areas. Very nice composition and details show clearly. The colours are good and the red building on the right is in sharp contrast to the rather unpainted and peeling walls on the left.

I like this one more than the previous one because of the light you got. Warm colours on the left contrasting with a good shadow on the right, dividing the shot.
