Madonna Fountain, a photo from Verona, Veneto

Photographer's Note

The Madonna Fountain in Piazza Erbe seems to be surveying the ornately decorated walls of the surrounding buildings. (Case dei Mazzant). The Cafe Filippini is at right. There are many such hidden gems throughout Verona, a city of 260,000 between Venice and Milan.

Another nice and interesting capture in your gallery.
Taken with perfect pov and ligth management as well as sharpness.
The wall paintings here has reminded me to those in Romania.

Hello Chris,
The fountain is fine, but the wall is more interesting. It's partly dilapidated, partly perfectly beautiful, and all of it is very appealing. I like the pastel colours of the paintings and the matching window shutters.

Hello Chris, I really like the colours in this sharp shot from Verona. Using the statue in the composition in this way adds to its' charm.
Beautiful features with the painted wall and then in places cracked plaster and bare bricks.

Hello Chris,

Oh, wow! These buildings are decorated in a very special way. They remind me of the stucco walls, with patterns and frescos that I saw in Herculaneum! The exterior walls are a subtle mix of paintings and shutters, with a dividing line of flower containers.
You are right, it occurred to me immediately that the Madonna of the fountain appears to be surveying the artistry on the walls!
A very well composed and exposed photograph!

even the statue seems to be looking at the exterior of the building :) Love the frail looking balcony, the arched shutters, the UP pov, so many small but important elements make up this shot. well captured and composed. cheers

Hello Chris,
The main attraction min this piazza is the surrounding old houses with painted balconies and walls. The statue is a nice added object in my humble opinion.
I have a different POV upon the place with balconies showing the same pattern of painted walls.
Collected the wonderful colors and under good light condition.

verona was one of the first towns I visited while in italy. nice this angle catching the sculpture and the colorful fa蓷de with those murals.
