Photographer's Note

Padlocks pledging eternal love at the House of Juliet (Casa di Giulietta) in Verona. Yes, that Juliet, of 'wherefore art thou, Romeo?', fame. It's not certain that this is the exact house where Juliet lived, but no matter, there's a statue of her, a balcony above (despite the fact that 'balcony' was not even in the English language back when Shakespeare wrote 'Romeo & Juliet'), and the walls are covered in places with love notes and also these padlocks. Popular with tour groups, so try to visit before they arrive or after they leave.
