ENGLISH: This is Capo Gallo (Cape Rooster) in Sferracavallo, a commune in the Province of Palermo. The little town is very characteristic and there are many good restaurants specialising in seafood - as you could imagine in a place like this on the coast.

ITALIANO: Si tratta Capo Gallo a Sferracavallo, parte della Provincia di Palermo. La citta di Sferracavallo e molto carratteristica con tanti ristorante specializzando nei frutti di mare.

Hi Lisa,
Beautiful shot here. I like the reuse of the old boat as flower pot. I create a strong foreground with the cuctus plants to accompany the very beautiful background of lake and mountain. Colors are beautiful and natural. Did you have a meeting with Linda and Hartmut in Venice?

La barca ..un elemento interessante...
Ma � il contesto naturale che la valorizza inserendola in un luogo fantastico.
Ho sempre apprezzato il tuo continuo costante svilupparsi di un colpo d'occhio fotografico..."superiore" sicuramente non comune .
Ma anche lo spessore artistico ..naturale ..innato ..che unisce bellezza e freschezza

I'm at work here so i'll make this quick!
i must admitt, i wasn't expecting this as one of your first posts..i was expecting more of a city/small town/village type of shot - but this one is just as pleasing. strange to see cacti growing in a boat! thats cacti right?!
talk about your contrasting elements in a photo - with the mountain range in the BG! strange, interesting but nice on the old eyes.
I'm sure it looks even more fabulous in person.

Hi Lisa, like this one a lot. Good use of the interseting FG elements to introduce the scene. Good DOF, with sharpness thoughout the image. I would have been tempted to push the saturation a little, but it's a small thing. cheers, steve

Excellent composition! The boat forms a perfect foreground for the hills. The colours are great and the light well managed.
What an inventive use for a retired boat, this is probably the largest flower pot I have ever seen :-)

Hi Lisa, the boat in the foreground makes a great subject for this very atmospheric scene. The curving shape of the boat helps the composition nicely and i like the mountains, exposed crisp and sharp in the background. It is a very attractive image. Regards Kevin

Greetings Lisa,

I have found as a tango dancer that looking up the local venues as you travel is a great way to meet local people - judging from your example here, TE is also a great way to do the same sort of thing.

A beautiful shot here (it probably helps that when I put down roots somewhere for a few years, I start rebuilding my cactus collection after having given away the previous collection int he previous contry: btw they are definitely opuntias in the boat). A stunning background and the CPL, one of my fave filters, has done its job perfectly.

Bello il monte di Sferracavallo visto da questo lato! Di solito lo si apprezza dalla parte del paese. Li in fondo, se n on sbaglio, inizia una zona protetta a riserva naturale, splendido luogo! Bella la tua foto con l'insolita "fioriera" con fichidindia in primo piano!

I missed all of your latest shots from Italy as I had not been visiting your gallery for a while since I am not a fan of long exposure shots taken when the sun has gone and the colours look otherworldly. I am your fan again due to these latest gems which show much more imagination in terms of composition and subject matter. I like this photo, because it shows you've thought about perspective and presents an interesting theme with that boat and its content.
In my opinion, the photo is properly exposed, subjects contained within the depth of field are clear and everything works very well!

The plants in the boat called in hebrew "TZabar" and it's fruits are delicious, but be aware of the thounsands-throne it has.
A nice idea, Lisa, showing the converted boat to a pot, and a magnificent view as a decor to the nice beach.
Great scenery on coast.
