Photographer's Note
Cerreto di Spoleto - (PG)
Castle of medieval origin built on a pre-existing settlement on the San Sebastiano hill, it is located in a panoramic position, on the ridge of a high hill dominating the confluence of the narrow valleys of Vigi and Nera, which surround it on both sides. The advantageous natural position favored, during the Middle Ages, its strategic value for the defense of the underlying valley of the Nera and Vigi and made it territory of conquest by the communities of Norcia and Spoleto, always wishing to extend their territorial domains. 'one to the disadvantage of the other.
Its name derives from the widespread presence of oaks and, among other things, until the last century a hundred-year-old oak could be admired in the main square of the village. The oak is also present in the municipal coat of arms.

Buongiorno Silvio,
A picture from your archive, just as I explore mine these strange days.
I bet the sight did not change a bit since 2014, and many years ago.
Wish you a nice weekend,
Ike

Silvio, that castle and the village are located in a proeminent position. They overlook the surrounding valley. The excellent viewpoint from far distance shows the settlement globallly. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

Hello Silvio,
A very attractive panoramic photo of the large village with some impressive buildings. The forests in the foreground and on the distant hill frame the view beautifully. It is a very pleasant photo.
Best regards,
Gert

Ciao Caro Silvio,
There seems to be an endless supply of interesting, ancient settlements in your neighbourhood! And, I imagine, that when you search your archives, you will find more that are just waiting to see the light of day!
This is a most interesting view of the castle and village, neatly surrounded by dense woodland.
It shows regard of thirds in the composition.
Keep safe,
Bev :-)

Hi Silvio,
The trees are framing well the village. The point of view is showing the details of the buildings, of the houses and of the church. The light is giving nice tints to the colours. Have a nice day.

Hi Silvio
This looks slight fuzzy or it seemed to be slightly out of focus on my screen, but you still managed to highlight the main features to your best. Well done

Hello Silvio,
Excellent panorama picture with lots of forested slopes at both sides of the town.
Good choice of point of view.
The single building in the lower right corner catches my attention.
Best regards, Paul
