Church of Santa Cristina - Caso - SantAnatolia (PG)

It is located near Caso, along the ancient mule track to Gavelli; the construction of the small and elegant Romanesque building, of the usual type in perfectly executed curtain of tanned stone, dates back to the 12th - 13th centuries. The cult of the holy martyr was imported here by the Syrian hermits, becoming particularly fruitful throughout the Valnerina. Fabbi recalls that Santa Cristina, martyr of Tire, to whom the suggestive Romanesque church is dedicated, is a title that is reminiscent of the hermit life of the Syriacs in the Valnerina. The archival documentation, kept in the civil registry of the Municipality of Sant'Anatolia di Narco, certifies the production of the books of baptisms, marriages and deaths starting from 1792 and up to 1860.
