Photographer's Note
Ninfeo di Palazzo Arroni
Beautiful nymph site within the noble Palazzo Arroni courtyard which was built on the initiative of Racani family in the early years of the sixteenth century, then passed in ownership to Brancaleoni before, to Vari then and finally, in the second half of the eighteenth century to the Arroni. The tub is flanked by two obelisks logs, decorated with stucco work and resting on a high base, in the niche above the tub make shows three great figures, centered Artemis Ephesia, and the two sides deities, one male and one female, symbolizing fertility and abundance.
The imaginative bezel has shaped shell, authentic small shells are scattered between the valves in the green and ocher-colored stucco.
The overlying arch and archivolts are decorated with stucco panels, which enclosed frescoes no longer readable.

Hello Silvio,
To my personal taste this is more curious than truly beautiful, but the rather odd sculptures and ornaments are quite fascinating. The photo, and also the WS, is perfectly sharp and well exposed and an interesting contribution to TE.
Best regards,
Gert

Ciao Caro Silvio,
This is an unusual well.
Its concave shape and curved design immediately draws us in. The shell type pattern, with a base that seems like extended arms, is what attracts the eye, and it is a while before we notice the figures.
I wonder if this has been added to, over the centuries. The two obelisks do not seem in keeping with the style of the rest and might have been later additions.
It's a sharp exposure to bring out these details for us to peruse.
Have a good w/e,
Bev :-)

Hello Silvio
It looks like Adam has lost a leg somewhere along the line but Eve is holding up quite well! Good sharpness and framing with a pleasant diffused light. Tfs!

Ciao Silvio,un vero capolavoro,mi chiedo se quelli attorno alla staute siano coralli veri o una riproduzione davvero magistrale, nel WS si vedono molto bene. Una bella sorpresa dalla tua citta' ancora una volta. Buon weekend,Luciano

Hello Silvio,
This seems like a very strange monument to me.
I confess that I don't know anything of monuments dedicated to the nymphs.
Kind of damaged over the centuries. But certain colours still come through very strongly.
Clear and sharp pictures. Interesting to have some closer views in the WS.
Best regards, Paul

Ciao Silvio
Nicely captured curves, textures and patterns. There is so much to see in Spoleto, I only spent a couple of hours there. These statues are really beautiful.
Best wishes

Ciao Silvio,
it is amazing how many attractive spots there are in this town!
I would really like to visit it before all the damage. It must have been magnificent,
these decorations are so very impressive even now but it is easy to imagine it must have been spectacular before.
Excellent reportage,

Hi Silvio.
This nymphaeum seems very old and with a lot of work in its conception, sculptures, paintings and many details to enrich the monument.
A great photo.
Well done. I like.
Enjoy, Sunday.
All the best for you, my friend.
Luis.

Hello Silvio, this is a site that is memorable, it would be hard to forget the style and decoration.
A great deal of care was taken in creating this well.
An excellent sharp shot.
Once again from your locality; there is a wealth of places to photograph in your region it seems.
Thanks for sharing, kind regards, Jean.
