Thirteenth-century palace - Vitorchiano - Viterbo

Going down Via Santa Maria, you come down on the right to the so-called 13th century building, now used as a private residence; retains all the distinctive features of the civil and noble architecture of the thirteenth century in the context of the local urban fabric as one of the most characteristic monuments of the village of Vitorchiano.
It is characterized by a portico with two arches of very wide width, of the two arches of the portico of the building, which rest, in the center, on a peperino column with a capital decorated with large leaves. Above the architectural elements supporting the balustrade are visible, emerging from the wall. Below there are doors of private houses, which are also located on the balcony with balustrade, accessible via a side staircase. On the left side a small room has been created in the masonry, from which three peperino buttresses protrude. The supporting architectural elements emerging from the wall are visible on the balustrade.
