Photographer's Note

Quartieri Spagnoli is a part of the city of Naples. The Neapolitan language is stronger here than anywhere else. The area, encompassing c. 800,000 square metres, consists of a grid of around eighteen streets by twelve, including a population of some 14,000 inhabitants.

The Quartieri were created in the 16th century to house Spanish garrisons, hence the name, whose role was to quench revolts from the Neapolitan population.

Hello Daniel,
A really nice view up the narrow and wet alleyway at night. The lighting is nice and well handled. The many small balconies add lots of nice details.

Ciao Daniel,it is said that it is not very healthy to go around these places, especially in the evening and with few people around .. hehe .. I hope I have not had any problems either. It's a very good composition, once again quite typical of your style. The lights reflected in the wet street, the laundry and the silhouettes of persons in the distance create an interesting atmosphere. It's also a technically good photo, well exposed and very sharp.

Excellent night shot of an older part of Naples.
The paving stones are wet but the laundry is still hanging outside to dry.
Superb sharpness and clarity.
