Photographer's Note
Padula is a typically South Italian village of about 5.000 inhabitants. Located on a hill, it overlooks the Valle del Tanagro which borders the Parco Nazionale del Cilento.
Padula is famous for the Carthusian monastery at its feet: Certosa di San Lorenzo. It is the second biggest charterhouse after the motherhouse in La Chartreuse near Grenoble in France. Its edification was begun by Tommaso il Sanseverino in 1306 but was not finished before the 18th century. But few is left of the original buildings, the present form being in Baroque style. After a long period as a cultural center its decadence began with the French occupation at the end of the 18th century. The monastery was closed in 1866.
Here you can see part of the very big cloister of 12.000 sqm from the 17th century.
Since I did not know which version to post I put an alternative view and a closer up view as workshops.

Good image Guenther, beautiful light and composition, to my taste I more like the alternative view but both are beautiful and have good appeal to me, compliments.
Ciao

Hola Guenther,
Gracias.

Hi Guenther,
Having seen all three I'd go for this one as well, I like here the part of the building to the left that sets a small perspective and associated depth with the repetition of the elements, and building the view on several plans as you did having the village rise over the foreground building is a clever idea.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Bravo Guenther

buon w.e.
ciao

I'm not surprised you found it difficult to choose which version as your main post as all three are excellent. I think this is marginally the best one for two reasons. By including two sides of the cloisers there is a more complete frame for the splendid village above. Also the left side cloiser provides perspective that works well as lead-in as well as providing depth. On all three versions the repetition of the windows and arches is very good and the colour of the stonework is bright enough to show well in the shade. Excellent work

Bonjour, mon ami Guenther,
Oh !
Philippe
P.S. : Merci, pour les bonus présentés en atelier

Hi Guenther
I know this place very well: visited it in may this year. Also posted a shot of it on TE with a bit other pov as in your 3 attempts. Thanks for the nostalgic feelings you gave me.
Greetings,
Huub.
