A very nice composition with the diagonal of the channel leading to the colorfull houses in the background, and the frame given by the houses on the left. Indeed a different view of Venice. I like the small boats and the faded paints on the houses.
The light seems a little harsh (white sky).

This is a lovely scene that really depicts the magic of ordinary Venice, away from the grand squares and buildings. I recall wandering about the city during my visits, amazed at the charm of these canals and buildings.

This is a fine point of view, giving us a view between buildings and into the distance as the canal meanders its way. There is great depth to this shot. I know this light isn't unusual in Venice, but it does distract a bit from the colors here. I downloaded a copy of the image and played with it a bit in Photoshop to see if I could diminish the glare somewhat. See what you think.
