Taken on the remarkable Alberta Ilea. This shot is of one of the many beautiful buildings that are showing signs of profound neglect. Riga is a wonderful city that has much to be proud, a great place to wander as a visitor. Technically, I played with the curves, and added some more colour and sharpened her up a little.

Chris, good photo, I see we have the same interest! The good news is that there are now two more buildings in scaffolding on Alberta, the corner one across the famous onewas done last year, and another one is on it's way of being returned in a sleeping beauty again. During the Soviet period, nobody was interested in the street, my wife worked around the corner (alreasy after Latvia became independed), and by coincidence she just turnd a corner one day a found out about the street. Nowadays tings are very different, with a constant stream of tourists.
