Photographer's Note

This is the Cathedral of Vilnius. The Cathedral is located in the Old Town of the city. Today is Lithuania's main Roman Catholic Cathedral: However, during the Sovjet times it was used as a picture gallery and storage. Masses started to be held here in 1985 when it was still officially a picture gallery. In 1989 it regained status as Cathedral. A thorough renovation was carried out between 2006 and 2008.
The first cathedral in this place was built in the13th century. during the centuries the Cathedral has suffered from fires, flood, and damage from invaders etc. and has been rebuilt and remodeled many.times It got its more or less its present appearance in the in the early 19th century.

Nice composition of this very fine church, taken from a nice angle. I like the way it is lit up, and how it stands out beautifully against the blue hour sky. The lighting really highlights the architecture well and your exposure is perfect. A great night shot.

Good morning Ulf,
I am impressed with the "clean" 8 sec. exp. managed superbly.
Yellow strong light under the marble hallway, with pillars and statues marvelousely handled, and in fine contrast to the outside darkening surrounding. Also, in second place is the beautiful tower, alo under light and prominently over the big square you were standing.
Fine night shot, exquisite details, no "grains" effect.

Jag var ocks� h酺 f顤ra 緳et och har lagt ut en bild p� TE. Det 酺 alltid v鄟digt intressant att se hur olika personer tar totalt olika bilder fr幩 samma platser. Det s輍er mycket om fotograferingens o鄚dliga m鐱ligheter. H酺 har du f幩gat en fin atmosf酺 fr幩 bl� timmen med ett varmt, n酲tan intimt ljus fr幩 katedralen och torget framf顤 den. Bilden 酺 mycket v鄟exponerad trots de inte alldeles l酹ta ljusf顤h嶚landena.
Tack f顤 din ws p� min bild. I princip tog du ett steg l鄚gre 鄚 vad jag redan hade gjort, och det var ju ingen nackdel.

nice the night view of the Catherdal of Vinilius,with the bell tower to be a separate building of it.I like the light management as the architectural style of the Cathedral.

Ett synnerligen vackert ljus 饘er hela bilden. En fin kontrast mellan det varma fasadljuset 饘er byggnaderna och det m顤ka himlen. Den 鞿pna platsen verkar egendomligt folktom och 饘ergiven. 瓏d� 酺 det ju inte s� sent p� kv鄟len.

Well done for the blue hour, the sky is well exposed
But I think that it was possible to underexpose a little bit, the spotlights are too strong between the columns
I have done a WS but it was much better for you o make some test ith different exposure
