Photographer's Note
A strange sight in a landlocked country (Macedonia FYR) and in a stream that is only a few inches deep. There has been an incredible amount of new building going on in this town and the bridges are covered in ornate statues, much like the Charles Bridge in Prague. Lots of Baroque decorations in the buildings too although here it's more neoclassical Greco-Roman.

Hi Chris
what the heck is this! Something just doesn't seem right here.
So is this some sort of floating restaurant? you're right, it is quite strange to see it here. Thank goodness the ship has a dark color in comparison to the buildings, it contrasts very well. There must be a story to this
cheers

Ciao Chris
in effetti è molto strana la presenza del galeone, ma fotograficamente crea un contrasto molto accentuato con
le architetture intorno.
Saluti

Hello Chris,
A rather weird sight but no doubt a great draw for the tourists. The background buildings also have plenty to offer the keen photographer despite their evident newness. Excellent composition complemented by superb colours and clarity.

Hello Chris,
This is an interesting but slightly absurd view. I was in Skopje only 6 years ago but the city seems to have changed very much since then. One might think they could have spent their money on social services, education, infrastructure etc instead of using it as a propaganda tool for rewriting their history and culture. On the other hand they have made more photo opportunities like this possible. It's a stunning view with great contrasts of styles and colours.
Best regards,
Gert

Good morning Chris,
First came to mind, how this old wooden ship came to a town that is far from sea and have no majior river that crosses there...
But, as a photography element to look at, it really contrast the newly built monumental edifice - and that's bringing some memories from an earthquake it had gone some 50 years back, destroyed almost the whole town.
Fine sunshine day for bringing out the best of colors.
Have a nice sunday,
Ike

Bonjour Chris
La longueur du cours d'eau donne de la profondeur à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails du vieux navire et des immeubles. La qualité de la lumière embellit les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Hi Chris,
an interesting contrast in both, architecture and colour wise elements. Good depth and sharpness, the entire POV style of the image is quite unique. Yes, sometimes there are no clear answers in regard to intrigue questions, maybe this is the future Ark of salvation...?
Thanks for sharing, have a nice Sunday !!!

Bonjour Chris,
