This was a spectacular place from the Southern part of Malta island. The ride with the boat under the caves is quite amazing.

The Blue Grotto (Maltese: Taht il-Hnejja) is actually a number of sea caverns on the south coast of Malta, east of the fishermen's harbour Wied iż-Żurrieq near the village of Żurrieq. It is located right across from the small uninhabited islet of Filfla.

Every day from sunrise until about 1 pm a unique sight can be observed here. The location of the cave combined with the sunlight lead to the water mirroring showing numerous shades of blue. Several caverns mirror the brilliant phosphorescent colours of the underwater flora; other caverns show a deep dark shade of blue.
The Blue Grotto is a popular destination for tourists on the island of Malta with boat trips to visit the caves, scuba diving snorkeling and rock climbing being the most popular activities here. It also has some typical local restaurants that offer good food with stunning views. The location has been used many times by filmmakers, including a Milky Way advert showing a cliff diver jumping 30m into the sea, numerous promotional videos about Malta, a scene of the 2004 film Troy and most recently in a RAI TV 2 filming for the popular travel programme Sereno Variabile.

Probably the best shot I've seen from this famous viewpoint. Blue water and orange toned rock face gives excellent colour contrast. The boat down there gives a good idea of the scale of this place.

Brilliant capture of Blue Grotto-the foreground with some green plants make really nice "opening" to the scene.
Superb presentation and lovely,vivid colors.

PS.did you also take some pictures under the cave from the boat?what愀 the lighting condition there?

The plunging point of view is enough to give you vertigo:-) The little boat makes a great focal point and serves to give the image depth. A beautiful lit composition with superb colours and sharpness.

love this shot of the BG. So nice to see it from above as I have only seen it from a sea sickening boat ride on a cloudy, windy day and that was well over 20 years ago. However the experience does stay with you and this glorious shot emphasises the fact that I should go back and see it like this. Beautiful! Such blues.

Now that is what I am calling blue, amazing indeed. Very successful framing with the green succulents in the foreground and the wast expanse of the mediteranian sea beyond the grotto. The lonely boat adds a good sense of scale of the grotto as well.

A superb plunging view on this wold part of coast . The vegetation in the FG provides a sense of depth , and the boats gives the scale .

questa � un vero spettacolo sia per il soggetto che i magnifici colori , il tutto evidenziato da un taglio verticale che lascia ampio spazio alle belle acque marine, senza per questo sacrificare l'imponente bellezza della roccia.

Quel merveilleux POV, une vue plongeante sur la grotte bleu, qui permet d'appr嶰ier les moindres d彋ails et ces formes, sublime brillance et transparence de l'eau, j'ai beaucoup aim嶪 la balade faite ouf d嶴� en 2010
Pour la r嶲ion j'ai noter Wied iż-Żurrieq, toi je vois Żurrieq, quel est le bon ? soit cela n'a pas trop d'importance j'ai juste quelques mots en plus :-)
