Photographer's Note

The Bay of Kotor is a winding bay of the Adriatic Sea in southwestern Montenegro.

The bay has been inhabited since antiquity. Its well-preserved medieval towns of Kotor, Risan, Tivat, Perast, Prčanj and Herceg Novi, along with their natural surroundings, are major tourist attractions. Natural and Culturo-Historical Region of Kotor has been a World Heritage Site since 1979.

Its numerous Orthodox and Catholic churches and monasteries make it a major pilgrimage site.

Hello Daniel,
The cruise ship makes an impressive focal point making a stark contrast with the small pleasure boats. The red roofed houses on the right offer an interesting counterpoint. I like the play of light across the waters of the harbour and the little boat in the foreground.

I read about this place in one of those airline magazines. A beautiful location, but popular with cruise ships (as your photo proves as well). Great use of the smaller boats in the fg.

A very beautiful picture of the Bay of Kotor in most appealing colours.
Excellent depth with the small boats on the foreground and the huge cruise ship in the back.
Many clouds in the sky but they look very pretty.
At the same time the water, the boats and the bank of the bay bath in sunshine.
Very well composed.
