Photographer's Note

The old town of Kotor is definitely worth a look. This is Saint Nicholas Church in the northern part of the old town. It was completed in 1909 and replaced an earlier church which was destroyed by fire in 1896. It's a Serbian Orthodox Church. In the fg is St Luke's Square. More info here:

Hello Chris,
I remember ending up in a much too expensive boutique hotel in the block next to this church. It's not an outstanding church but it's nicely situated and this photo is pleasant, thanks to the fine light, tiled ground and lively atmosphere.

Hi Chris
A great town to visit is Kotor. I was there on the day they voted for independence. It was a very happy town that day. A good photo of the church and square.

Hi Chris,
I have a very similar photo in my TE gallery as well. This chessboard pavement decorates the foreground nicely. The houses frame nicely on both sides.

Hello Chris,

I was immediately struck by your fine composition, which acts like a funnel, guiding attention inwards, across St. Luke's Square, to the sharp, symmetrical facade of the church.
The many figures animate the scene, without detracting from or obscuring the buildings.

Hi Chris,
A lovely old town square with the church entrance. Square pattern tiles look good. There are a few tourists around but it is not too crowded. I wonder what that flag means.

It is an excellent photo of the church fa蓷de here and its two towers and domes. The buildings on either side add a nice, tight frame. The chequered square adds a nice foreground and the people create a nice mood.

Excellent picture of the church facade and towers.
Remarkable are the narrow alleys at both sides of the church which the sun cannot access and which are likely to feel cool.
Nice foreground with the red, white and grey floor tiles.

An impressive facade of this church, which fills all the space between the buildings on both sides, the floor in two colors of the tiles, contrasts with the blocks of the same stone on which the buildings of the square are built.
