Photographer's Note
The Vijfhuizer mill was built in 1874 and was used to keep the Vijfhuizer polder dry. It is situated along the Ringvaart. The mill is still operational, but will be used on special occasions only.
I drove by the mill late yesterday afternoon as I had to go somewhere. I deceided to take a small detour though because of the beautiful light and look for some photo opportunities.

Hello Harko,
Excellent pov looking towards this windmill, that so well suits the square frame. Perfect perspective looking down the canal. Very good tones and soft lighting, resulting a pretty reflection. Very successful work.

Hoi Harko,
Groetjes.

Hello Harko,
Nice composed view. I prefer a more contrasty sky, but the reflexion in the water is fine.

Perfect image, Harko. The placement of the windmill in your shot shows that you did some active work when you composed it. The reflections are truly beautiful. The whole scenery reminds me a lot of old netherland painting.

This is beautiful, Harko, very much like an old Dutch painting, with the golden earth tones and subtle sky colors. It was well worth the detour you took. Landscape shots are more difficult where it's flat, but I guess you get a lot of practice with that where you live, and this shows the practice has paid off! Regards, Ken.

Bonjour Harko,
l'image est bien cadrée, il y en a qui aurait coupé le reflet ce qui aurait été une erreur vu qu'il est splendide.
Des lumières pas faciles, il commence à faire sombre.
De belles couleurs de saison.
Best regards.
Daniel.

The ubiquitous windmill shot. The light you have caught here made the detour worth while and technically it is very nice.

Many details are very attractive in this picture. A very good composition, a very nice light, a nice reflect in the water, a nice sky with different tones. And the square format use for the result.
It's very well done,

Looks like a master painting. Cool and beautiful, with a good realization : square frame, off-centering, light. Good shot.

Hello Harko,
What a simple and effective composition! You created an excellent symmetry dividing the picture into two halves and made sure that it doesn't become boring by placing the wind mill off the center. The reflections in the water are smashing and the river receding towards the horizon line creates a great perspective. Very beautiful! Congratulations and TFS!
