A Kings REAL Throne, a photo from Oslo, South

While traveling in Oslo, i visited several Medieval castles, unfortunately i can't recall the name of this particular castle.

I do remember seeing this Luxury toilet in the Kings bathroom! Simply decorated with colour tiles and a wooden seat....can you say splinters anyone?

Looking down inside the toilet, it was about a 30 foot drop to the bottom. And yes, can you imagine this was the Kings throne...imagine what the normal folk would have to use.

Isn't that the most interesting technology which was added to castles after they were built! From the outside, they are hanging off the side of the building. I saw these in France. Pretty funny, huh?

Though looks funny for today's standards, this must have been a really luxurious toilet in the middle ages! I'm sure most people did't even know what a toilet is. I remember visiting a castle in Slovakia, the guide told us that people just leaned out of castle windows and did what they had to do.

Why do I think of my youth when we were BUSY and my mother often answered to the person looking for us: He's on the throne?!!

Hi craig. This old-fashioned toilet is worth seeing in the truest sense of the word. The builder has tiled this place and so refined. I think that photo is a good contribution for TE. Regards, Wolfgang. Have a nice weekend.
