Photographer's Note

My series with remote farms continues, this time with a residential unit that has seen better days!

I have to admit I have cheated a little here, as I managed to hide the new house behind the old one! Almost - if you look closely you will see the roof of the new house popping out to the right side...

So next time I pass by this house may be gone!

Traditionally the farmers in this area make a living from cows and sheep, and forestry in the winter. In the later years chicken production has become an important source of income.

I can not find a new house behind the old residential unit.
Absolutely a nice picture with the way these gives a lot depth and perspective to the picture.
Sharpness and clarity are of high quality.

Pablo,
The angle of the shot is great allowing us to see more of the house. The road leads the eye past the house and into the distance. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has excellent sharpness.

Hi Pablo,

The road is leading my eyes toward the mountains which is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the architecture of the house in ruin. The afternoon light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Hi Pablo.
I've done this kind of 'cheating' too. I think that new chimney is also the new house, no? Anyway, it's a lovely scene set by the long, straight stretch of road, with some woolly clouds and a lovely light. I wonder what will happen to the derelict farmhouse now. I once knew a madman who built a new house inside an old one in a suburb of Melbourne - no planning permission required for that, he thought. It emerged from the old one as the ugliest house imaginable, like a metamorphosis.

I see you have been concealing sheep, too! Or is that a sheep with 8 legs?

Hi Pablo,

I like a lot this composition: the long road gives a fine depth and the clouds in the sky do make the image richer and dynamic.
And the sky is incredibly blue!
Everything fits well here, the old farm looks great. Pity that they will crash it down...
No problem with the sharpness this time! (:-)

Curiously I've shot a similar composition but of course in a completely different environment. Probably I'll post it later here.

Hi Pablo,

It's rare to see ruins so fine coloured ruins. I like your framing with this great place for the sky even if I would have prefered it without the hut on the left. I like how you give depth to this composition with a big place to the sky and this clouds. Very interesting and nice.

a beautiful shot of wonderful ruined farmer's house,
its a little dim but shining white wall is very vivid against back pure blue sky,
true white cotton cloud watches its cubic figure tenderly from the sky,
very peaceful atmosphere in this charming country scene is splendid,

Good Morning Pablo,

I have a love of old houses; this one has great character. What a pity it will probably be removed!
However, you have made a fine record of its existence.
The shot is very well exposed with good colour saturation.

I counted the legs of the sheep and divided by four. Oh, my goodness, did I admit to that! Once a teacher, always a teacher! I looked very carefully at the original image, suspecting that a sheep might be hiding there!

I heard CS% has a great tool for clone stamping called fill transform aware content and that is for the that corner of the almost hidden new house roof.

I saw the ws, THERE ARE 4 Animals there, 16 feet..
Nice this view of the old house, I can bet the new one will be uglier than this one.
Some times I see some old abandoned houses here in my town and I say: I will took a photo soon as possible and then, some day I pass in front of them and they don't more exist and I become frustrated.

the house, although Wears over time, presents interesting texture, just by age. The vegetation on the side, lush, very beautiful and blends perfectly with the beautiful blue sky and cloud on the road.

Dobro vece.
Vrlo interesantna i lepa stara kuca od drveta i put koji nas vodi negde u nepoznato, lepo plavo nebo sa belim oblacima, dobra kompozicija.

Painting on the walls and the house does not resemble one ruin any more !!! Very good choice of framing here with this road which gives much of depth. It looks really a bit lonely and most probably nobody is living anymore int he house. Perhaps the owner passed away and the kids have no interest, what often happens. Vibrant color hues with high sharpness. well done

Thanks for your critique of my buttterfly shot. Well, insects and birds photography is not so complicated, but it requires a strong tele lens - I use 70-300 - and or a macro lens - which I intend to buy one day. Further you may need an external flash and a lot of patience. You have to frame fast and precise and shot as much as possible, as not every shot will be really sharp, insects and birds can move fast.

Looks like this old farmhouse has seen its better days but what tales she could tell if she could only talk.
Love the depth created by the long straight road and how the green hills contrast so brilliantly with the lovely blue sky.
There are many such old abandoned or soon to be abandoned homes in my neck of the woods.
