Are you tired of red farm houses? Well, most but not all of them are red...

This scene may look like from a museum but it isn't, this is real life but I admit the old houses for storing food over winter (stabbur) hardly are in use anymore..!

Both storage houses are in a log construction that is typical for a "stabbur" but you may notice one of them is stripped for the original turf roof, most likely because of a leakage.

Another typical detail is the bell on top of the roof! This bell is called a food bell/meal bell (matklokke), and was used to summon farmhands working in the fields to the meals. But that was back then and not now...

You know that you enjoy when you post something different. This at least quite different from your ordinary and usually red farm buildings. As usual you have captured the building really well and in excellent lighting. What is also a bit unusual is that the building are standing very tight together. TFS and have nice weekend!

fore food bell and back turf roof are interesting and special here,
all wooden houses are beautiful and so lovely to my eyes,
against wild conditions, natural woods are most useful indeed, it is splendid thing,

Hi Pablo,

These houses are maybe not quite red but one can still trace some old red paint. But I like these red farms :). But even more I like the turf roofs, I am never tired of them. Here there are also small trees on the roofs. Maybe one could find mushrooms as well? Nice composition in autumn colours. The bell is interesting detail.

The wood house a little bit a ruin makes this image really realistic.
Is complemented by a wonderful environment.
You create a lot depth and perspective.

I guess turf roofs are more typical to Norway than anywhere else. Beautiful aged details on those old walls. Good direction of light. I guess this is pretty high on the mountains as most leaves are already fallen in the end of September?

It was red once, Pablo...
lucky in Norway there are so many trees, to built farms out of those logs.
Picture has nice and vivid colors, but I think i'd take a few steps backwards, to include more in photo's space.

very beautiful these old houses. I liked the light, sharpness and details here. good sample of popular architecture. I saw some similar yesterday in a polish urban park not so far from my home, they used the trunks in horizontal shape making a tick wall while brazilian architecture in wood is with thin pieces of wood in the vertical position. nice image. yesteday I visited a museun in curitiba city and I saw some paintings (from 100 years ago) from of one of the most important painters from my state of paran� (who was a norveguian citzen.)
