The choice for a "Time out", a photo from Oppland, South

Photographer's Note

The photo from what I call My valley up in the mountains of central Norway where I have a place of my own..

After a long time at TE I think for me time has come for a little "Time out". I never have had any problems with the moderators work at TE where the target of course is to secure the TOS of the site. But since the change of ownership it have been several disposals and discussions that, as I see it, is not good for a site like TE.

Well, no need to dwell around this. My summary of the situation should be clear enough at at my project page

Yes, there are dark clouds above TrekEarth - made by the owners/moderators and their behaviour. Your photo shows this in an excellent and most impressive way. I hope you really "only" take a time out and not a total abandonment.

What a place to call 'your' valley...it gives the time out thing a whole new meaning. Clouds are a bit heavy, but maybe that's a personal reflection there...
Anyway, thanks again, Jack, for all the effort and energy put in. I'm still waiting for that open letter to get the reply it deserves.

Meanwhile, I'll be looking forward to you returning here.

Hello Jack,

not attending TE on a regular basis I was not aware of what was going on. I noticed you didn't post during past few days but I thought you were away on holidys somewhere, like many people do during this Season. Now thanks to this last posting of yours I could apprehend what was the matter. I want to express my solidariety with your initiative and I'll look forward to know further developments of this problem. Either here or in your blog.
The picture is , needless to say, very "satisfying".

Dark times for TE, it seems...I wasn't here for some time now and it is indeed a sad day for the forum to loose so many respectable photogs like you and many others. I hope all of you will return and contribute to the ppl here...

The picture, btw, is excellent with strong atmosphere and texture of the clouds (a bit too dark for my taste).

Striking sky of just the right mood .. stunning dimension .. you can feel the wind through all parts of it .. makes the small building feel vulnerable .. the distant peaks are powerful even at this small size .. tremendous ..

A dramatic tonal range in the sky, with good colour & sharpness. I like the color contrast between the red shed & blue sky. Good polarization & contrast. Tfs!

hej Jack i have with a lot of compassion read your treads a t the forum and hope with my heart that your TimeOut is of a shorter version. and what ever you do please keep us that stays in mind.
and about your photo... well what should I say this is really the essence of the Jack I learned to know by watching several hundreds of pictures during the last years.
