Akershus Fortress is a great place to discover Oslo's history and enjoy a summer day.

The building of Akershus Castle and Fortress was commenced in 1299 under king H嶡on V. The medieval castle, which was completed in the 1300s, had a strategic location at the very end of the headland, and withstood a number of sieges throughout the ages. King Christian IV (1588-1648) had the castle modernised and converted into a Renaisssance castle and royal residence.

Hello Daniel,
The title refers to the fortress in the background, but the star of the photo is the young seagull in the foreground. It is a perfect focal point and catches my immediate attention. Then I also look at the fortress and the many boats.

Pleasant panorama view with a nice boats, at the area.
The seagull are a nice addition.
Perfect depth and perspective.

Hello Daniel,

You may have thought that the seagull photobombed your photograph but in actual fact, he looks so cute in his dappled plumage and helps to create a fine sense of depth to the boats and the buildings that you discuss in the b/g.
