Photographer's Note
Trekking is a recent but very strong passion... this walk was amazing, we went through a small snow storm...
We went Fafião in Gerês (National Park)... you can find the full set of photos on http://fotos.sapo.pt/acaxinas/ultimas/
and the full description in our blog http://umpardebotas.blogs.sapo.pt/90812.html
About this photo: somebody just left there the "batons" and that wood stick called "cajado" in portuguese...
I liked the "scene" and shoot... it's the new and the old technology... the "batons" are very important to help on trekking, once you get used you will never abandon it
The "cajado" is well know for its multi-purpose application... can help you to walk, cross the rivers, defend you from wild animals (including humans), help conducting the cattle and so on.

Ora boas meu amigo Pedro
