Hi all,
This is the chapel of "Nossa Senhora das Necessidades" placed in "Monte do Colcurinho" (Mount of Colcurinho) at 14km of Aldeia das Dez.

This chapel is connected to a legend that says one day, some shepherds of Vale Maceira leaded by a few sheps went up to the top of the mountain. While they were praying, they had heard one voice that interrupted them. It was Nossa Senhora that ordered them to build there a chapel in her honor.
However, someone remembered that in that high Nossa Senhora would be alone, as so, they build the chapel in Vale Maceira. In the day they had put the image of Nossa Senhora in the chapel, it misteriously disappeared. After lots of researchs it was found in the place she appeared to the shepherds, and was returned to the chapel again. In the next day the same occurred, and there it was again, in Its predilect high! After returned, at the third day she disappeared again.
Reaching the place, were today is the chapel of Santa Eufémia, they verified with some astonishment that a band filled of some purple beautiful flowers (poenea silvester) was extending to the top of the mount. As so, they recognized their efforts to Nossa Senhora stay in Vale Maceira where unuseless and they decided to build a new chapel in the place of the appearance.
The legend tells that Nossa Senhora cried too much for people not satisfied her wish, that each of her tears when falling the ground, was transformed in purple flowers, marking the way she followed to the top of the mount!
