The village of Óbidos keeps centuries of history between its walls. With a vast património of religious architecture and description-monumental vestiges, the village of kings and queens was, in others times, place of preference for rest or shelter of the disagreements of the Courtesy. D. João IV and D. Luísa Guerra, D. Pedro II and D. Maria I, D. Leonor, D. Catarina of Austria and D. Carlos, had been some of the monarchs who had passed for these lands leaving, of a form or another one, marks that the village still today keeps. The origin of the village of Óbidos retraces to century I, the city of Eburobrittium. Romans, visigodos and Arabs had been peoples who had marked presence for these stoppings. The year of 1148 marks the taking to the mouros of Óbidos, being in 1210 donated by D. Afonso II to Queen D. Urraca. The first county of Óbidos is instituted in 1636 e, seven years later, D. João IV orders to repair the walls again.

Um abraço
