Photographer's Note

I spent in Porto only four days but that city surprised me much. Is really amazing and colourful place. Couple of young people seating on the Douro river bank resting in shadow and waiting for table in near restaurant.

Hello Robert,
The city looks so attractive from here with its many houses in bright colours, which look so good in this appealing sunlight. Good inclusion of the overhanging tree and the people in the foreground. The shaded area adds contrast and depth.

Hello Rob,

I like your photograph for many reasons:
the way you use the plane tree to frame the scene, the way you include the couple for human interest and to anchor the f/g and how the b/g is totally full of bright, colourful boats and buildings, along with crowds of people to bring interest to the whole scene.

We loved Porto when visited, Robert, a charming, and yet an intriguing town. Beautiful combination of a romantic moment on the bank of the Douro, while the colorful Ribeira district houses and the traditional boats "fill" the far side bank scenery.

Four days in Porto is perfect, I have been there twice and I'd even go back for a third time :) you show us a lovely and warm image with a couple enjoying each other's company. great to have the classic Porto waterfront in bright colours and bright lighting. well composed for a different view. cheers
