The Almonda is a Portuguese river which rises in the Serra de Aire. On its way 30 miles through the towns of Torres Novas and Goleg� which empties into the right bank of the Tagus.

Torres Novas is a Portuguese town in the district of Santar幦, Central and East subregion of the Tagus, with about 14,900 inhabitants (17,000 in the urban area). Still belonged to the old province of Ribatejo, but without any significance today of administrative policy.
It is the seat of a municipality with 269.50 km2 and 36,908 inhabitants (2001), subdivided into 17 parishes. The municipality is bordered to the northwest by the Municipality of Our幦, east of Tomar, and Vila Nova da Barquinha Junction, southeast by Goleg�, south and west of Santarem by Alcanena.

Torres Novas Castle is located in the Parish of Santa Maria, County of Torres Novas, Distrito de Santar幦, Portugal.
Dominant over the village, the river Almonda, a member of the Line of the Tagus, the medieval castle remains a landmark of the town.

Oi Companheiro!

Fiquei ruidinho de inveja quando vi esta fotografia!! Primeiro porque ela � uma maravilha e que n緌 fui eu que a tirei! segundo porque n緌 conhecia este bonito local portugu瘰!!grrrrrrrr Mas que castelo � este?

So para contrariar, talvez lhe falte um nadinha de luz ali do lado direito por baixo do arvoredo...podias t�-la recuperado em post-processing ;)

A composi誽o quanto a ela ficou mesmo a meu gosto!

This picture could seems too dark . But that works very well , here , the poor , but beautiful light creating a strong atmosphere . the composition is just splendid , and the place is so calm and peaceful .

when i looked at this the first time, i said to myself...now thats nice!
so elegant, so romantic, so beautifully/softly lit colors.
love the large overhang of the green tree to the left, and the overall sharpness of the scene.

The place reminds me of Tomar, very similar tree, on the river's bank.
The fabulous light on picture made wonder on it, good POV, with the old wall decor the BG.
As riverside image always offer, there is a calm ambiance - nice place for a picnik.

Le saule pleureur au premier plan est tout simplement magnifique et il est pour moi l'arbre le plus photog幯ique qui soit, surtout lorsqu'il est pr鋊 d'un plan d'eau. La fortification � l'arri鋨e plan est superbe .

Well, with such a castle, luxuriant garden and river reflections the picture could not be better!
Colours are really intriguing here, creating a lovely and serene atmosphere like in a Renaissance painting. You have framed the scene masterfully and so the picture is very pleasant and harmonious. Also the light management is very good and I guess you applied your usual trick to get this very effective and good result.
Another outstanding image in your portfolio.

linda vista deste castelo, gosto das muralhas aparecendo para al幦 da moldura de verdes e as 墔uas na parte baixa da compo. uma compo algo rom滱tica e muito bem feita.
vendo esta foto me recordei da "atmosfera" portuguesa e da saudade que tenho de tornar a viv�-la, a 萖tima vez que senti esta mesma atmosfera (ar-sol-perfumes) foi quando estava em c鏎doba, argentina, que possui um clima bem parecido ao da�.

Gosto desta composi誽o sobretudo pelo contraste entre a luminosidade e as zonas com sombra.A luz sobra o salgueiro foi bem realizada, tb gosto das tonalidades de outono presentes em Setembro :)
