Photographer's Note
Its been a few months since I posted on TE, I thought it was about time to return.
Here we have a simple but fun scene from Lisbon.
It's more about the man and the experience than the architecture and windows themselves.
My initial idea was to capture this beautiful facade of repeating windows, then I noticed the man smoking on his balcony enjoying the view, and I wanted him in on the scene.
But then HE noticed ME, and that's when he Turned Around to avoid me. I thought that was pretty funny, so I had to capture it.

Hi Craig, welcome back !! It's always nice to see old friends on this site where many disappear without giving more news! A nice memory from Lisbon, perfectly symmetrical composition as I like it, with only one man in the photo and the usual great quality of the details. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Craig,
The human presence breaks the monotony of the photo that I had to fave it. Of course the different colours of the two buildings are also a contributing factor.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hi Craig,
I appreciate the pattern of the windows. The point of view is showing the details of the facade of the building. The light is making the colors to stand out. Have a nice day.

Hi Craig,
Bela tomada esta destas fachadas a partir de baixo pra cima. Belo resultado com estes padr髊s de repeti誽o e o homem na sacada quebrando a regra.

Hello Craig,
I was nicely surprised to receive a critique from you. I was pretty sure you were still alive ;-), but I hadn't expected you back.
I would probably have recognized this as one of your photos in any case. Architecture and a small detail that makes it more than just a plain view of two fa蓷des. The man on the balcony would have contributed well to the photo if he had been facing us, but he made the photo much more entertaining by turning around. You spotted him well and timed this shot perfectly.
Best wishes,
Gert

Hi Craig,
The man with his back turned and his doors halfway open, add drama to the otherwise just symmetrical shapes. The sequential balconies look austere, almost like cages...and so the human figure adds life, perspective and raises the question: what lies inside? Very well presented, TFS

Hello Craig,
Great to see a new photo from you again. A very nice look up those fa蓷de with the many windows and balconies. Nice contrast in colour as well, thanks to the yellow left hand side. That lonely man is a great detail as well.

Hello Craig, a shy man not wanting to be caught on camera!
He really does complete this scene, especially as you explained the scenario.
Perfect symmetry.
Lovely to see you posting here again.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Craig
I took a similar shot in Bari, Italy but this is more interesting with the man with his back to us. Good sharpness and repetition. Tfs!

Hi Craig,
TE is really dying out. It keeps getting less and less busy so your presence can make a difference.
Nice repeated pattern broken by the smoker. Maybe he presented his behnid because this is what he considered to be his most attractive asset. The WS photo is more interesting to me because it shows even more. Great geometry. This is such a beautiful town which I hope to re-visit someday,

Hi Craig,
Good to see you back. You haven't turned your back to us after all! The man on the balcony is a fun detail, who would normally stand towards the door on such a small balcony. Interesting to see how different paint gives so different impression on otherwise similar details.

Hello Craig,
Even without reading your note with the nice anecdote about the man who turns his back to the photographer, I would have gambled on Lisbon when I saw these facades and balconies.
Wonderful photo completely filled with windows and balconies and with one shy man.
In the WS I recognise the Casa dos Bicos in the Rua dos Bacalhoeiros.
Wonderful facades of Lisbon!
Best regards, Paul
