Photographer's Note

The Dormition of the Theotokos Cathedral (Catedrala Adormirea Maicii Domnului) is the most famous Romanian Orthodox church of Cluj-Napoca. Built in a Romanian Br滱covenesc style, a synthesis of Renaissance and Byzantine architecture, it lies on the Avram Iancu Square, together with the Cluj-Napoca National Theatre and the Avram Iancu Statue.
The Cathedral is the seat of the Metropolitan of Cluj, Alba, Crişana and Maramureş.

Hi Daniel, Impressive cathedral, I also have many photos of it, I like the view. And I remember the cables, it was impossible to find the place without them. Nice light only on tops of the buildings. Good crop

Hello Daniel - It is the light and contrast between deep shade and brilliant sunny colours that attracts me to the shot. The tracery of wires across the sky adds a good modern, urban detail which, to my mind, does not detract from the composition but adds to it. Warm regards Rosemary

Nice warm vs cold colour contrasts between the yellow ochre facades of the buildings & the blue sky. Smart choice of a vertical format. Good color saturation & nice repetition of the red chimneys & terrace houses. Tfs!

you know i'm going to like the wires in the sky! :)
adding to the realism of the city. We can even see more and more wires in the shaded areas.
love the architecture too.
I remember you saying to me one time that Romania doesn't have alot to offer in terms of photography compared to the France's and Italy's...but i still think there is alot to be taken and appreciated!
