Photographer's Note
Longing for the snow that hasn愒 shown up yet, just rain...
The "Endless Column" is Constantin Brancusi愀 (1876-1957) most important and most famous masterpiece. The Romanian sculptor Constantin Brancusi was a central figure of the modern movement and a pioneer of abstraction. At auctions in the 1990愀 his works reached the highest prices that ever had been paid for sculptures, unbeaten until today.

Don't care much for the snow, Johannes, but I love that Brancusi sculpture. Didn't know the precise location, so now I'll add it to my ever expanding list of places I want to visit. Thanks.

Hallo Johannes,
This photo fits well the mood and the weather we had last week (today and yesterday was beautifully suuny here in Hungary). The difference is that there is snow and here isn't! (:
I like the composition with the endless coloumn and the village houses. However I think that there was a bit too big fog that destroyed the contrast. Although you tried to balance it well with the white frame, I think it's still too gray. I sent you a ws, hope you don't mind!

hi Johannes,
well,good try.and thanks for this!
when you said Brancusi, you said Romania...like Rodin is for France.more of this, represents the ..soul of Romanians, life itself, even the title tell this.
forgive me,Johannes,but....really can't point this.to present the art of Brancusi is difficult, know.saw them when was a little one:)my Father presents my country and learn me what tell you today.
next time, please, try to show the whole masterpiece.with a low pov to show the infinite, the sky,or from distance, don't know..
best wishes,
Flori

Hallo Johannes,

Hi,
like I said...i prefer this one. Not seeing the ending of the coloum it gives it that infinity touch, feeling.
The relation between the sculpture and houses is excellent as we feel the dimension of the statue and its immensity.
I also like most gentle output of the whole image...a foggy winters feeling when sun desperately trying to burst thru.
My best,
Jeri
