Photographer's Note

This is house of my family in central Slovakia.
i spent here part of every holidays in my childhood.. i love this place, with it愀 beautiful nature, peaceful silent environment and kind people..
This house is typical slovak original wooden house and has biig garden full of flowers and yard with various kinds of animals - dog, cats, sheeps, rabbits and my favourite horse.. :)
a week here is the best anti-stress therapy.. :)
it is the place, where i have my roots, where my family comes from and i will be always happy to return and spend time here..

Absolutely enchanting. The brightly coloured window and the dull nature of the wood against the gorgeous sunflowers are imaginative and a perfect destressing anidote.

It's even better than Van Gogh's sunflowers, because it's not only that. excellent composition, the wooden texture is almost "touchable", the window frame is a picture in the picture. Bravo, Veronica!

First i do think that your country is like heaven on earth, one of the must beautiful places i'd visited.
second this is a great image, full of colors, superb POV and composition..
maybe the window frame corner at the upper right were complete it'd been better though (chack my WS)

Amazing capture!

A very creative POV and a nicely framed subject. I simply love the contrast in the Sunflowers bright yellow against the dark wooden wall. This is magistral! The window with the blue sky reflecting on it adds space and a sense of liberty. Absolutely awesome. n fact, even the power lines are ok to me as they add the human factor to a really conceptual composition. This is a favorite to me!

This is the house where you lived and your parents are still living? It's so nice Vero!
The house and the the garden you mention in your note must be wonderful and ideal to grow up as a child.

I think this is one of the best pictures on this whole page... I'm not sure why, but it has a great power and for me also an artistic value... I like the compostition of it's elements - order and disorder together... great harmony, warm and also contrasting colours... complicated and simple - all together... great:)

ahoj vera,
just went through your gallery and love the photos from slovakia, and would love to see more of them, particularly the rural areas or small towns with their unique charm, and beauty;
also i would recommend you include people in your images, they add "soul" to the empty otherwise images (of course, in this lovely imageg it wouldnt be quite possible to add a human)

Hi Veronika, this is a beautiful scene, with great contrast and colors, also photographed from a nice angle. I like all the diagonal lines of the window frame and the wood grain. My only suggestion would be to get rid of the telephone pole in the reflection.
