This is Batizovske Pleso/Lake. The lake is on Magistrala`s route, the principal marked trail in High Tatra. The lake is situated in the Batizovska valley. From this valley starts the classical route for climbing Gerlach peak. Guided groups usually climb the peak from Velicka Valley (through Velicka Proba) ,using the classical route as a descent way.
Also many other routes with a higher dificulty level have the finish point Gerlach peak. One of the most interesting route is Martin Crest.

Officially Gerlach peak is "legally" accessible only with a guide, member of UIAA.
