And finally the third shot from the Winter Steams Series profiting from the early morning sun. In the critiques of the previous shots I have seen quite some reactions addressing the environmental question - for those of you concerned, this is just steam coming out of a heating central providing warm water to the town of Zvolen. :-)

Hello David,

A really excellent shot, with great contrast and depth. Industrial landscape made beautiful. Timing is spot on to capture the sun coming out (or disappearing from) behind the cloud. Great effect how the cloud and the smoke seem to form one whole!

An impressive and beautiful photo. You manage a sublime composition of a landscape that might not be so often photographed ! Beautiful !
About the steams and environmental questions : to provide warm water you need to burn something as coal or fuel or whatever don't you ??? I don't think the steam is that clean ;) But well... it is and that's part of the world we all live in !

Hi David

Indeed, I feel more than concerned by environnmental questions... and there are surely more questions than answers, and problems than solutions in that matter but, anyway, I find your shot fantastic. The light, hidden partially by the smoke, is creating a very special shape of cloud in the sky. It could be the a girl, draped in a glamour dress, with her hair flying in the wind. The light is beautiful and the composition well balanced. bravo!

PS: Considering the three photos, I find that this one has a charm that have not the two others, something more poetic, a kind of carefreeness.

great how human interaction with nature can produce real artistic impressions. Excellent compositition and light management to provide a pristine and clear image. Nice detail with the sunrays, although I am somewhat surprised that you achieved it with just f/14.
