Impressed, a photo from Trnavsky, West

Photographer's Note

This photo was taken after sunset, returning from afternoon walk to ruins of St.Catherine monastery, about 4-5 km from villages of Nahac or Dechtice. Just few minutes later it was too dark to make photos from hand.
I was taking deep breaths of scents of meadows and forest, which were surprisingly strong (for late autumn). If I should tell only by the smell, I悲 say it愀 spring...

I played a bit with this photo: increased saturation a bit to get colors I perceived (camera made the colors quite greyish) and up and down regulated contrast, clarity and sharpening parameters to get a bit of an impressionist painting look.

Hello Adrian,

You really did an amazing job with this picture, and I think you achieved the impressionist look you were aiming to.
Apart from the effect you achieved via software, the picture is well-composed too. The woman has some mysterious look, as she walks in this very peaceful scenario.

I opened up the image and "OMG!"
Wonderful photo.
I fully agree with your impressionist approach. This photo deserves to be "painted".
If you don't mind, i made a further postprocessing (see the workshop). Of course not suitable, too much playing for TE sharing, but this is just for fun.

Hello Adrian - This is a fabulous shot, atmospheric and your certainly achieved the 'Impressionist' look. The colours, although you tweaked them a little, are soft and very appropriate for the composition. Excellent work. Best regards Rosemary
