Ljubiana,cityscape

The city's architecture is a mix of styles. Despite the appearance of large buildings, especially at the city's edge, Ljubljana's historic center remains intact. Although the oldest architecture has been preserved from the Roman period, Ljubljana's downtown got its outline in the Middle Ages.After the 1511 earthquake, it was rebuilt in the Baroque style following Italian, particularly Venetian, models. After the quake in 1895, it was once again rebuilt, this time in the Vienna Secession style, which today is juxtaposed against the earlier Baroque style buildings that remain. Large sectors built in the inter-war period often include a personal touch by the architects Jo猄 Plečnik and Ivan Vurnik. In the second half of the 20th century, parts of Ljubljana were redesigned by Edvard Ravnikar.

Hello Danos,
Another wonderful cityscape from Ljubljana, which is a place I really would like to visit. The almost empty streets, the darkness and the slight purple haze in the sky create a very special mood here. The composition is excellent.

Kalispera Danos,
The relativer dark tones and no cars on this road, gave the picture a special texture as you went back in time to the 18th or 19th century to take this marvelous sight.

Hello Danos,
Another fine picture from Ljubljana with an interesting range of very subdued colours, creating a slightly strange atmosphere. I think you have placed the city in the wrong region. It should be Osrednjeslovenska instead of Savinjska.

I know this street well. Good to catch in a diffused light as the harsh shadows and oe highlights on a sunny day make this a very difficult shot. The woman with the umbrella lets us know it is raining. Tfs!

The street is sending my eye toward the buildings in the background which is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the buildings. There is a good contrast between the colors of the picture. Have a nice day.

Your capture works very well in bringing out the very best of this sight with its attractive old buildings as main feature. The bright tower and green dome have somehow grab as strong contrast against the setting which is definitely is a big hit. it looks like a Austrian town, we can identify the monument and the church in the typical style of architecture we can find in austria. very beautiful corner and excellent photo.
