Hello friends and colleagues, today I present you this street of the interesting town of Tazones, in the province of Asturias. I hope you like it, then some letters about the villa.

Tazones is a parish and a town in the Asturian municipality of Villaviciosa (Spain).
Tazones is formed by two neighborhoods, divided by the local road that connects the town with Villaviciosa, capital of the council: San Roque and San Miguel. The limit of the Historic Site occupies the area between the coastline, from Punta de la Mesnada to Punta de Tazones and the crest lines of the mountains of La Atalaya and Villar, up to the point of junction of the Tazones road with the highway of Gij鏮- Villaviciosa. Inside it is the Castro del Picu Catalin. Tazones has a beach in whose pedrero Jurassic dinosaur footprints can be observed. It also has one of the 18 fishing ports of Asturias, belonging to the captaincy of 3� Lastres, in which small boats dedicated to inshore fishing and a fish market dock. The town is located between two large rocks, and their houses, one or two floors, are arranged in a staggered manner. Important whaling port in past times, it is supposed that it was in Tazones where, at that time, very young King Carlos I stepped on Spanish soil from Flanders for the first time in 1517, a fact that is commemorated every year during the local festivities of San Roque, that are celebrated in mid-August, with a representation of the landing.

The port of Tazones currently stands out for its fishing and tourist activity, but in the past, this fishing village lived on the whale hunting. Its port was one of the many of the Cantabrian cornice that were dedicated to the capture of cetaceans, turned into a prosperous business in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, although it was practiced since the XIV, according to Luis Laria, director of the Coordinadora for the Study and Protection of Marine Species (Cepesma). However, from this part of the history of Tazones, minimal references are kept. Gonzalo 翼varez Sierra echoed, in 1979, in the work "Villaviciosa, en imagen", some words of Caveda in which he said that, around 1550, Tazones was "a small flourishing port" with whaling activity. By that century, all the commerce of Villaviciosa and its council can be said to have come from Tazones, where many vessels arrived not only from the Kingdom, but also from abroad. In fact, long trips were made to Galicia, Vizcaya, Andalucia, France, Holland, England, as it is recorded in the archives of the City Council of Villaviciosa. The main items that were traded were flax, hemp, wax, oil, tar, cloth, canvas, etc., amen of fishing and the product of whales, which were also fished.

A plain but excellent composition of these white buildings on top of a hill. The photo is well balanced and the fine sharpness captures the nice texture of the cobbled street. Exposure and colours are excellent.

Hello Angel,
A lovely perspective along this cobbled little street with its whitewashed houses. The vegetation is nicely distributed offering some splashes of contrasting tone. I like the soft lights and colours and the detailing to be observed in the cobblestones.

What a pretty area!
You have created a beautifully composed photograph.
I like how the highly textured, cobbled path guides us so effectively between the sweet railings, the floral plants and the white houses.
