Postcard from Haria, a photo from Lanzarote, Canarias

Photographer's Note

Haria is one of the charming little villages you can see in the centre of Lanzarote Island. The white color of the houses is typical there. It is quite challenging to photograph the white buildings with a strong light. This picture was taken with the town hall (Ayuntamiento de Haria) behind my back. Town hall fa蓷de faces north so most of the time it is in the shade. This lovely square, Plaza de la Constitucion, on the other hand is well lit most of the day. We had our lunch break in this town. It was a tough decision again between overpriced seafood and cheap pizza. I am a big pizza fan so cheap pizza sounds like a win-win situation for me. My wife and daughter loved to browse through numerous jewellery stores there. As opposed to most major towns the shops were operated by local people selling local products, which we gladly supported

Hi Mariusz,I hope the pizza was good and not a classic frozen one that I often found abroad, excellent catch in front of the town hall, in fact the white houses in the sun are always challenging but offer the opportunity to get beautiful cobalt blue skies. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Mariusz,
A very nice view of these white buildings and the surrounding trees with also some flowers. The white walls makes a good foreground, especially with the two sculpture at each side of the entrance.

Hello Mariusz,
Let your wife and daughter go shopping. Then you have a lot of time to take pictures :)
The final bill may then become a sacrifice later on.
Overpriced seafood? The ocean is nearby!
So this isn't the town hall. Often the ayuntamientos in Spain are quite beautiful buildings.
The white buildings together with the different plants, some red flowers and a row of palm trees offer a beautiful and cozy sight.

You managed the light on the white buildings extremely well.
A good photo of the buildings and nearby vegetation including what looks like red bougainvillea.

Hello Mariusz,

This white house is full of character, with its balustrades and tall windows, surrounded by this neat wall and backed by palm trees. It looks very well cared for, with steps cordially inviting visitors.
Though there is a plethora of white, you have controlled the light well, no oe evident at all.

A lovely post card of this nice surroundings.
The stairway lead us to the entrance with wood fence.
Also the flowers and palmtrees make your picture attractive.

a marvelous view of these white buildings, the stairs in evidence and the beautiful palm trees completing the scenery. white houses are very usual in spain, portugal and greece as you know. brasilia city has many modernist monuments in white too.

This view of the Plaza de Haria is very beautiful, with the white of its buildings, the bushes and palm trees add a lot of charm, here if I was and took a photo, but the light was not good because the sun was almost going to set. late.
Very effective coloring, which highlights the details of the image.
