Photographer's Note

A typical Mud嶴ar window in the historic part of the city of Toledo. Mud嶴ar is a unique style of art that has emerged in Spain in the XII century in the wake of the Reconquista. Mud嶴ar combines a mix of Arab and Christian architectural elements to create buildings with elaborate geometric patterns mainly relying on red wafer bricks and tiles as the prime construction tool. Examples of this art form can be found throughout several regions of Spain among which Toledo particularly stands out.
