Hospital de Sant Pau
Proyecto de Lluís Doménech i Montaner de1901, que aplicó las experiencias de otro gran proyecto hospitalario anterior: el Instituto Pere Mata de Reus. Construcción hasta 1930.
Premio del Ayuntamiento de Barcelona del año 1913.
Se trata de un conjunto monumental cuyo proyecto inicial se extendía a nueve manzanas del Eixample de Barcelona.
El proyecto inicial se componía de 48 pabellones de los cuales solo se construyeron finalmente 27. De la complejidad y amplitud de la obra da idea el tiempo transcurrido desde el proyecto hecho en 1901 hasta su finalización en 1930.
Entre todos los pabellones destaca el de la administración al que se accede por una escalinata. A derecha e izquierda están los cuerpos de la Biblioteca-Museo y el de la Secretaria-Archivo. En un espacio separado se encuentra la impresionante iglesia.
Citaremos solo algunos de los artistas que, según el cronista Permanyer, colaboraron con Domènech i Montaner, en especial Eusebi Arnau i Pau Gargallo que realizaron las numerosas esculturas del conjunto. Los diseños de pintura y mosaicos los realizó Francesc Labarta. La forja se debe a Josep Perpinyà.
Visitas: Debido a que el conjunto sigue cumpliendo con su función hospitalaria, se pueden visitar las zonas institucionales, representativas y abiertas.

It is a question of a monumental set which initial project was spreading to nine built-up apples of the Eixample of Barcelona.
The initial project was consisting of 48 pavilions of which only constructed finally 27 themselves. Of the complexity and extent of the work it gives idea the time passed from the project done in 1901 up to his ending in 1930.
Between all the pavilions stands out that of the administration to which one accedes for a perron. To right and left side the bodies of the Library - Museum are and that of the Secretariat - Archive. In a separated space one finds the impressive church.
Will mention only some of the artists who, according to the chronicler Permanyer, collaborated with Domènech i Montaner, especially Eusebi Arnau i Pau Gargallo that realized the numerous sculptures of the set. The designs of painting and Mosaic it fulfilled Francesc Labarta. The forge owes Josep Perpinyà to itself.
You visit: Due to the fact that the set continues expiring with his hospitable function, there can be visited the institutional, representative and opened zones.
