Photographer's Note

Today I propose a nice view of Lake Arcos from the border with the evening light, taken from the recreation area next to the dam with the Santiscal urbanization in the background.

Arcos de la Frontera, path input of the white towns, is this lake that is visited by many tourists and locals in the summer. It has an area of 143 hectares and its peak width is 4 miles. This artificial lake is formed by a dam built on the river Guadalete.

This lake being located in an area of warm weather is the destination chosen by many birds for the winter, we can find copies of sormujos, osprey and grebes.

Around the lake have been installed renowned restaurants, in addition also has built a resort with apartments that are rented on a seasonal basis, being the busiest summer.

In addition there is also a yacht club that operates on the lake, providing courses in canoeing and sailing, and also carry out competitions at certain times of year. The distance of a beach makes people use the lake as a bathing place. At the edge of the lake in summer you can see many families who decide to spend the day enjoying the area.

Access is out of Arcos and taking the road to El Bosque, a couple of miles you have the turning is signposted. It is a very interesting place whether you like wildlife and want to see the many birds that spend the winter there, as you're cool a bit in those days of summer heat.

Access is free. Furthermore, the number of restaurant in the vicinity of the lake is high, so the offer is very varied in quality and price.
To spend a quiet day with family, playing and sunbathing is a great place.
