Photographer's Note

The Temple of Debod is an ancient Egyptian temple which was dismantled and rebuilt in Madrid.

In 1960, due to the construction of the Aswan High Dam and the consequent threat posed by its reservoir to numerous monuments and archeological sites, UNESCO made an international call to save this rich historical legacy. As a sign of gratitude for the help provided by Spain in saving the Abu Simbel temples, the Egyptian state donated the temple of Debod to Spain in 1968.

Excellent point of view on this reconstructed Egyptian temple, not some thing I would expect to see in Madrid. I am also taken by that beautiful sky and its lovely reflections. Very well exposed with superb colours and clarity.

Hello Daniel,

The temple of Debod is a favorite place in Madrid of many of Trekkers. Here beautiful view in winter with some frost. Excellent composition with beautiful reflections. Lovely light and colours. Nice sky. Fascinating place in every time of day and year.
