The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sof燰 (MNCARS, also called the Museo Reina Sof燰, Queen Sof燰 Museum, El Reina Sof燰, or simply The Sofia) is Spain's national museum of 20th-century art. The museum was officially inaugurated on September 10, 1992 and is named for Queen Sof燰. It is located in Madrid, near the Atocha train and metro stations, at the southern end of the so-called Golden Triangle of Art (located along the Paseo del Prado and also comprising the Museo del Prado and the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza).

The museum is mainly dedicated to Spanish art. Highlights of the museum include excellent collections of Spain's two greatest 20th century masters, Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dal�. Certainly the most famous masterpiece in the museum is Picasso's painting Guernica. The Reina Sof燰 collection has works by artists such as: Juan Gris, Joan Mir�, Julio Gonz嫮ez, Eduardo Chillida, Antoni T跧ies, Pablo Gargallo, Pablo Serrano, Lucio Mu隳z, Luis Gordillo, Jorge Oteiza and Jos� Guti廨rez Solana.

Hello Daniel,
I remember this museum and the large glass lift very well from my visit two years ago. Great POV, which shows the modern structure against the older building very nicely. The light is fine too.

Hello Daniel,
That is a relatively new glass tower upon the fa蓷de of the museum, an elevators tower which gives a nice view of the surrounding when climbing/descending.
Good view upwards, fine clear picture, and the thin cloud seems as smoke out off a chimney.

Bonjour, Daniel,
Cette avanc嶪 tout en glace me fait penser � la pyramide du Louvre (dont certains assimilaient cela comme une verrue au coeur de Paris).
C'est amusant de constater que cet ajout semble maintenant faire partie int嶲rante de l'immeuble.

what can I say...this just simply looks COOL :)
reading your note, it does sound like a cool place to look at on the inside too.

but this tall glass elevator thing is stealing the show.
it seems so out of place, but yet it doesn't.
