Photographer's Note
As opposed to an almond tree in this photo, this one has got a lilac-coloured petals.
Anyone knows why?

Hi,
Lovely view. I like the way the tree fills the photo, Colors are indeed splendid. Dard sky underlines the soft lila shade of petals what looks really great,

Another gorgeous entry into your almond blossom series, Robi. Amazing colors, and great elementary framing for this single tree on the low-horizoned soil and against the perfect polarized sky. My advice to you is print it, frame it and hang it on a wall in your home.

Hi Robert,
Very beautiful almond tree against the sky.
I like your compo.
Almond flowers are nearly identical to peach and other Prunus flowers in structure, but light pink or white in color, and fragrant. Flowers have 5 petals and sepals, and many elongated stamens; all of these appendages originate from a hypanthium or floral cup which surrounds the ovary. The ovary is perigynous. Flowers are borne laterally on spurs or short lateral branches, or sometimes laterally on long shoots as in peach, particularly in younger trees. Flowering on basal spurs of 4-6 yr old wood gradually declines, since terminals fail to grow out when many flowers per spur set fruit; hence older limbs become unfruitful and are pruned out.

hey man...this is one nice piece of work. The polarizer has some excellent effects on this shot. I would say this shot deserves at least 5 smiley, but i will give you only one, as they do not allow me to give you more. congrats, alan

Hi Robert
It's already spring in Andalucia ! Que suerte !
This shot is so dynamic because of the curve of the trunk, the amazing clouds in the sky and the way you've cropped the ground so tightly. The colours of the flowers remind me of the sugar-coated almonds that a given to guests at christenings etc in Spain.

Hi, Robert. A very simple composition with a low angle. The tree with its strange twisted trunk stands out very well against the blue sky and fills the frame in an interesting manner. The polariser did a good job here, and so did you!

Hi Robert, the thumbnail of this one really brought me in. What a dashing composition and marvellous contrast between the lilac blossom and the deep blue very well rendered cloudy sky. The central compo is effective here due to the curves of the tree and the complex cloud patterns in the sky. Xcellent organic graphism!
Have a nice week,

Hi Robi, this is very beautiful. You take optimum advantage of the beautiful sky and the contrasting trees and blossom by taking such a low PoF. The polariser works extremely well in this case, it increases the contrast between the sky and the flowers. Very nice tight framing too.

Hi Robert
This is a masterpiece
The polariser did a great job ,the clouds look like a brushing stroke on a canvas, and giving an unfinished touch to this striking composition.
At times,I wondered if you are really in Spain, the style being so Japanese.
You know...I am speechles looking at this beauty
Have a good day

Superb shot. Interesting twisted trunk to this tree and fine spreading crown. I've no idea why the colour of the blossom varies from tree to tree - but they are beautifully photogenic - especially against that deep blue, polarized sky. ;¬)

Hi Robert, Is it a tree or a dream ? The curves of the trunk, the dancing branches, the lilac, ... this tree is an oriental dancer and that deep blue sky is the painted wall of a luxurious harem. Great.

Hi Rob,
I don't know about the petals, but there is certainly something enticing about the sinuous trunk of this gorgeous tree. The colour contrasts are sublime, as is that sky with the varying, textured clouds angling upward. This was surely a magical day for photography. Well captured, Rob. Well worth the hundred points and more...

Hi Robert,
Very beutiful picture. So simple but so nice. What I think it makes it so special is the inmense blue sky acting as a background with the clouds almost touching the earth. That visual effect of proximity between the tree and the sky. And the tree is so elegant and delicate... Very inspiring!
