Photographer's Note

The iron works at Engelsberg are so representative and well kept that it has been granted World Heritage status. This picture shows the main office building built as the "new" office in 1915. It has a very typical design with timber painted in Falu R鐰f酺g. Also the roof, the portico and the standing white timber are typical architectural details of the time.

The iron works in Engelsberg was used for many hundred years. After being run as a cooperative of farmers it was run as a company from about 1680 until 1919.

The colors are really vivid in this photo. Your photo also shows off this particular style of architecture well. You are close enough to the house to see detail but yet far enough away to appreciate the surroundings.

Very great facade image Ebbe, the shadow an the door give a lovely perspective, very sharp and clear, my compliments for this.

Nicely composed, somewhat off-centered, framed with greenery - this is well done, Ebbe. A shadow-stained gravel path leading up to the front portico, beautifully side-lit, it all mediates a feeling of rural quiet peace. The house itself is very beautiful and well rendered - and it looks very, very Swedish. Well done!

Excellent sharp, excellent compoced, excellent light and excellent contrast. The color in Denmark we call that red fore "'Swedish red".

Great to watch this fine building and I would say a typically swedish of older date - great to watch and glad to hear that this going to be protected for the future - wonder if you got any photo of the iron works as well - thanks for sharing Ebbe - I can see you started the next hunt.
