Photographer's Note
Another shot from the iron works at Engelsberg. This is the blast furnace, or really just the top as there is a lower level of buildings around it, you can see a glimpse of a roof on the right.
The furnace at Engelsberg were used the last time in 1919. We have many furnaces like this preserved but few in such a good condition. Usually just the furnace survived and the building around collapsed as the timber went old. But in Engelsberg the buildings have been saved as a monument and the site is now a World Heritage. It was also awarded a price a best industrial museum in Sweden in 1999.

Nicely composed Ebbe. The sepia tone is a good choice to help us concentrate on the subject. I like the diagonal designed by the structure and the contrast between nature and the industrial type construction

Another great black & white picture! Great composition with the footbridge leading the eyes to the iron works. The black and white filter accentuates the age of this building, a color version of this picture would not have the same effect.

Good choice, Ebbe to protray this wonderfull industrial monument in sepia tones. The compo is really spot on and I love all the rakish forms and textures and the abrupt border between old tech and nature. I think I see some artefacts but they give an extra graphic punch to this picture. Very fine work.
